THE spirit of muhibbah was in the air when Indians, Ibans, other orang asli, Malays and Chinese came together recently to celebrate the festive season with a Christmas concert in Ipoh.

Organised by the Perak Government, the Konsert Muhibbah Hari Christmas 2008 attracted churchgoers from about 50 churches statewide on Saturday at Stadium Indera Mulia.

The event kicked off with Chinese hymns sung by more than 100 members from the Chinese Methodist churches of Ipoh and Taiping, followed by Buntong Tamil Methodist Church youths dancing energetically to a Tamil song depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.

Seven pupils from SJK(C) Min Tet, Ayer Tawar, and 17-year-old Ooi Choon How then brought the house down with their hair-raising stunts with the diabolo, a Chinese yo-yo.
Perak-born songstress Amy Mastura charming the crowd during the festive Perak state-level Christmas open house at Dataran Ipoh on Dec 27.

The audience roared their delight when the pupils juggled the yo-yos around their bodies, tossed them into the air and caught each others' yo-yos with nail-biting speed.

Lending another special touch to the evening were choir and dance performances by the orang asli of Gopeng Shalom Church who used both modern and native bamboo musical instruments.

Two for the price of one!

This picture was taken in front of the new building, beside the Ipoh Garden Post Office. All the trees were cut down along that stretch of road. What you see in this picture are the newly planted *trees* with the last of the original old tree at the end . They planted some palms too, in front of this new building just at the side of the Ipoh Garden Round-about. These are not my concern. What I do not understand is, why on earth do someone wanted to cut down mature trees, which are cool and shady and replanted them with pencil thin sticks? Moreover, it does not need a rocket scientist to know that, they were planted way too close.Right, they were rocket scientist, that is why they don't know, when the trees grows bigger, they needed to be cut/chop again. My mistake, they are futurist as they were planning way into the future. They were creating jobs for their children, those trees needed to be cut/chop then as they were far too close and maybe replanted with some newer ones too?Well, someone got to do it.

First of many.

When I first put up this blog, I still have not really decided on what to put up. But this morning, I decided to just do it and put on what ever I find interesting, first in Ipoh and in Malaysia and than for the rest of the world. So why am I posting about happenings on the world too as my blog clearly states Ipoh! But the 2nd. word is Mali and that is *come* in Malay lingo as the Chinese says it. So *Ipoh Mali* means ,*comes from Ipoh*. And natives of Ipoh is famous of going into all the corners of the globe. If you don't believe me, just go to any Chinatown and ask if there is anyone from Ipoh. I am sure you can scrap out a few.

I will be also be posting some photos of interest, my interest, hopefully your interest too. And if possible, I am sure it will be but if it is possible for me, to put out a page on local herbs. I still have no idea on how to do that!

As you can see, I wanted to put up a blog but have no idea on what I am doing! And if you some how got in to this blog, please bare with me and see what else I am able to put up later on.If I were to die of shame, on letting the whole world see what I can and mostly what I cannot do ! so if I were to die, today is as good as any other day.
